It might be a fungal infection. Athlete's foot, also called tinea pedis, is a fungal infection of the foot. It causes peeling, redness, itching, burning, and sometimes blisters and sores. Another possible cause, contact-dermatitis (foot eczema). This type of eczema can appear swollen, red and with blisters or cracked skin. See your doctor for a proper diagnosis.
