Thank you. My sister recently fractured her pelvis in 4 spots. As you can imagine, the pain is horrific. She cannot take code in at all, or morphine.... they make her violently ill . So, she finally asked her very young doctor to stop all the meds and give her Tylenol. He gave her one 325 mg, otc Tylenol. He refused to use Motrin because of the healing aspect. She’s 77 years old, has COPD, heart issues, and is some overweight. The pain , using a sliding board to transfer is horrendous. She took one of my Ibuprofen 800 mg pills and they made her almost immediately more comfortable! Not ultimately the best answer, but she could not deal with the wretching and nausea. But, he will not prescribe them. We were hoping to find some facts to support common sense.
She is in a rehab, cannot come home .... so she has to be cooperative. This is a terrible situation. Do you have any suggestions? Talking to the doctor has proved useless. For all I know, Medicare will not allow it for her condition.
