Genital Psoriasis is not an easy condition to live with. Most people go undiagnosed for a long time. It accounts for 7% of all psoriasis cases and only 2-4% cases are isolated to just the genital areas. Symptoms can include but not limited to burning and itching. This is compounded because of the area itself – it is conducive to friction and warmth. Anything that rubs against it makes it worse--things like clothing (ex: tight jeans, leggings), rough toilet paper, sanitary products, bad skin care products (use gentle soap) and even sex activity can make it worse. They say some foods can make psoriasis worse: gluten, diary, sugar, any food containing alkaloids and lectins and alcohol. Treatment will help. I would definitely consult a physician first.
