Bladder prolapse (cystocele) can result from childbirth, constipation, violent coughing, heavy lifting, or other pelvic muscle strain. Symptoms include feeling pressure in the pelvis and vagina, discomfort when straining, and feeling that the bladder hasn't fully emptied after urinating. Mild cases don't need treatment. When needed, treatment includes a flexible ring to support the bladder or surgery. In rare cases, estrogen may also be used.
