This sounds like it could be an allergy. Did you eat something different or use a cream or new detergent or anything like that? Allergies can come on suddenly, even if a person was not allergic to something before.
It could also be a skin condition that is starting called Dyshidrotic Eczema or some other kind of Eczema. You can read about these skin conditions here (cut and paste): https://www.empowher.com/eczema/content/three-types-eczema
You will need to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis if this does not clear up on it's own in the next few days. Keep us posted.
