Yes, stress can affect your menstrual cycle. It sounds like you have quite a bit going on at once. Stress can play a role in triggering irregular menstrual period or even missed periods. Stress can effect the part of the brain responsible for producing hormones, which can in turn create an imbalance and have your menstrual cycle behave abnormally.

Some stress will cause your menstrual cycle to stop all together. Although stress can wreak havoc on our bodies, there could also be something else going on in addition. A prolonged menstrual cycle could be a warning sign of something more serious going on. Make an appointment to see your gynecologist to discuss your symptoms and get a full cervical exam.
