Hello Tammy,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us for advice and suggestions.

For the benefit of all our readers, primary biliary cirrhosis, or PBC, is a chronic, or long-term, disease of the liver that slowly destroys the medium-sized bile ducts within the liver.

Pruritus, or intense itching of the skin, often in the arms, legs and back. Other symptoms may include fatigue, jaundice, fluid build-up in the ankles and abdomen, and darkening of the skin and collection of fatty deposits in the skin around the eye. Jaundice, is an indication of how far the disease has progressed.

PBC can be ruled out as the cause of your hip and knee pain.

Lichen sclerosis is an uncommon condition that creates patchy, white skin that's thinner than normal. Psoriasis is a common skin condition that causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin.

Articulation of the femoral joint or an issue with a tendon could explain the clicking sound in your hip,

A MRI of the hip would be the next diagnostic imaging study, if one has not been done.

Regards,
Maryann
