Barb, I agree that the times are encouraging for more open relationships and it is on the rise. I have read that as many as 1 in 5 couples have been in an open relationship at least some time in their lives before they finally settled on someone and married. More marriages now are open as well. Not sure that is due to waning religious as much as a better understanding of our needs and our nature. I know of two couples who I am friends with and both are very religious, Methodist and Hindu, and they have been enjoying an open relationship for years. They do not see their highly sexual, open relationship at odds of their religious affiliation and loyalty. Sex is a wonderful thing for them to be enjoyed and explored.
