I'm sorry you have not found any helpful advice yet. Below I've listed a few tips that may be more helpful then what you previously read. I must add however that before using these treatments you must be absolutely certain that your symptoms are indeed caused by a yeast infection. The reason being that if you have something else these treatments might actually make it worse.
1. avoid using soap, only rinse with water
2. if you are using vaginal medications do not use tampons, use pads instead.
3. do not rub to relive itching, instead apply cool damp clothes, or sit in warm water

4. yogurt and/or probiotics can help
5. douching (with vinegar)
6. garlic and tea tree oil (topically or in diet)
