There's still a lot of prejudice against online dating. Probably, because there's less pretence involved, and people often put quite straightforwardly what they want from relationships. It may be less romantic, but may work better in the long run.

I've had my share of online dating - there was both awful and good experience. The best thing about online dating that it gives opportunity to go beyond the fixed social circle and find a person with similar interests. Recently I've agreed to go on a date with a guy I met on online, and didn't regret a bit. So, online dating is definitely something worth trying.
