Hi Anonymous and thanks for sharing your concerns with the EmpowHER community.

You have certainly been through a lot in recent months, and it's not at all surprising that you are now dealing with depression. When women give birth it has a dramatic impact on our hormones, which can also have a strong impact on our moods. When you go in for a medical procedure expecting it to go smoothly and then run into complications, it's a traumatic experience and that too can impact one's emotional health and well being. And, on top of all that, you've learned that you had precancerous cells, another worry.

You may benefit from some counseling right now to gain perspective on these situations and, if needed, get some medication to help. In terms of your husband, it may help to have a heart to heart, adult conversation with him about your concerns and ask him to help you get through this too. Most men don't have a full understanding of women's health or hormones or the procedures we go through, but they do know our moods, and he most likely is very aware that you are down, but doesn't know how to help. You will need to help him understand and enable him to help you in getting the help you need to get better.

I'm glad you reached out, it was probably hard to write to us. Please don't go through all this alone. We wish the best for you in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Take care,
