More than thirteen years ago, when my fibromyalgia was raging out of control, I was ready to give up and spend my final days in a nursing home in excruciating pain. I had tried everything I could find medical and holistic. If I had heard of it I tried it, to no avail. The symptoms just kept getting worse.
Finally I was introduced to the beautiful mind/body/spirit wellness work of Joy of Healing. Thanks to them my fibromyalgia is in remission and I am pain free! They helped me to recognize and resolve all of the issues in my life that were helping to make me so very ill.
Together we also worked with diet and nutrition specific to my needs. I never realized just how harmful processed foods, sugar, dairy and wheat were. I continue to eat healthy, getting enough greens—spinach, kale, chard, broccoli etc. My own body digests chicken and fish better than beef, so I eat accordingly. I substitute almond milk and enjoy healthy grains such as quinoa, and spelt. Black rice, also known as canoe rice is both tasty and nutritious.
Health is physical, emotional and spiritual, so don't forget to look after your entire being. Your thoughts, nutrition and exercise all play an essential part in wellness.
