Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! I absolutely love horses, but ouch!! That must really hurt! While it sounds painful, it's not super serious. However, you want to make sure to fight off any infection that could come your way due to it being an open wound. If an infection occurs, you could be dealing with a much bigger issue. The Epsom Salt is great-but I would have a doctor check it out. 

If your doctor chooses to remove it, you are looking at around 18 months for it to grow back. Tending to horses is a full time job and I am thinking that since you will be in boots and your feet sweating, there's a chance for infection as you can't baby it say if you were sitting at a desk all day off your feet in open toed sandals. 

Anon, I'd have it checked out...but that's not to say you have to remove it. See what your doc thinks!
