Hi Hayden,

Thanks for your question! It is great that you are taking an active interest in your health. What made you decide to start taking vitamins? Is there a particular health issue you are trying to address? Your current age, diet, health status and lifestyle will help determine which vitamins will be most beneficial. A pregnant woman in her 30’s does not have the same nutritional needs as a woman in her 60’s.

If you do not want to start taking multivitamins, which are most commonly recommended, then start incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet to increase your intake of vitamins and minerals. Women are often advised to increase their Calcium intake, get more Vitamin D (from the sun) and take fish oil containing Omega 3s. Pregnant women need extra folic acid and iron. Discussing your specific needs with a doctor or nutritionist will help you determine which vitamins to start with.

Best Wishes,

Shanon
