Welcome to EmpowHER.  Let’s start by saying there is no need to be sadden about finding out you have genital warts. Genital warts are one of the most common types of sexually transmitted infections. Having those feelings of killing yourself is not necessary.  You can live a normal live, there is a lot of different treatments to help anyone with this condition. Genital HPV it is spread through sexual contact. In most cases, your immune system kills genital HPV and you never develop signs or symptoms of the infection. Factors that can increase your risk of becoming infected include:Having unprotected sex with multiple partners, Having sex with a partner whose sexual history you don't know. You might have contracted the disease from your ex partner or your recent boyfriend. It’s best to discuss with your doctor which treatment would be best for you. Please feel free to discuss with your doctor, this is a common sexually transmitted infection and you will not be the first patient he have had to prescribed treatment for.
