Ear wax buildup is probably the cause. A simple solution is to make a water/peroxide solution. In a cup, mix one part peroxide with one warm water. Using an eye dropper, draw up this solution and inject into your ear. Tilt your head to the side. Wait about one minute and tilt your head in the opposite direction. Do this over the bathroom sink. The solution will flow out of your ear.
Gently use a cotton swab or Q-tip to clean the outer ear.
