Postinor 2 contains a man-made form of the hormone progesterone that prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation, if taken in the middle of your menstrual cycle before ovulation. It increases the thickness of your cervical mucus to make it harder for sperm to reach and fertilize a released egg if ovulation has already occurred.
Like all medications, Postinor 2 has side effects. They include nausea, sometimes vomiting. withdrawal bleeding two or three days after taking the pill, next monthly period might be earlier or late than expected, breast tenderness, headache, dizziness, and fatigue.
Please, do not use Postinor 2 or any other emergency contraceptive as regular birth control. For emergency use only.
