We realize when our intuition is right but we don't always act on it, maybe because we just don't know "what" isn't right so we wait for more signs. Sadly those additional signs may take a while to manifest and since you ignored them at first, you may find yourself in a tough place.
Learning to recognize our intuition when we get that twinge or not so nice tug is just a matter of listening and not reacting or making a hasty decision. Learning to say NO is hard for some but can really keep you out of a mess you knew right from the start you didn't want to be in.
