Hi Anon,

According to the CDC, trichomoniasis is transmitted through sex and, "It is not common for the parasite to infect other body parts, like the hands, mouth, or anus. "

Although symptoms are not always present, female symptoms include:

  • A foul-smelling, greenish-yellow discharge from the vagina (often in large amounts)
  • Irritation, itching, and/or soreness in the vulva, perineum, and (less often) the thighs
  • In severe cases, inflammation of the vulva and perineum
  • Red spots on the vaginal walls and surface of the cervix
  • Pregnant women who are infected with trichomoniasis may have premature or low-birth weight babies

You said that your doctor said that you Might have trichomoniasis. Although a conversation with your boyfriend may be in order, make sure to get a proper diagnosis and even a second test if it's up in the air.
