A 500 calorie deficit daily can definitely result in a change in your period because your body has not yet adjusted to not having those extra 500 cal. It certainly doesn't make you anorexic, but you may want to consider decreasing the amount of calories in your diet gradually as opposed to cutting the 500 calories at once.
