Thanks for the advice. I have already gone to an excellent ENT. Although it is only tinnitus and not (thank goodness) a symptom of a more serious condition, there is nothing my doctor could do about it. He tried putting in tubes to see if the ringing was due to a middle ear infection, but that didn't change anything. I know there is a treatment where they stimulate the auditory nerve and play certain frequencies, but the machine for this is expensive so not many doctors have it yet. Also, the procedure is still in the experimental stages and doesn't work for everyone.
