Hi ncharm,
Thank you for your question and for joining EmpowHER. I have sent your question to a couple medical professionals (doctors) associated with EmpowHER. I am not a doctor, so I cannot diagnose you or give you advice. I can only direct you to resources to help you advocate for your health. Regardless if the conditions are connected or not, you may want to take care of this soon, or at least get the answers from your doctors to help calm your fears. When is your next appointment with your gynecologist? With cancer running in your family, it is good to be on top of things, and ensure that if there is anything bad to be found, it's found early so there's more chance of being able to move on from it. Before you go to the doctor, make sure to create a list of questions to ask, and bring a pen so you can write down the answers or bring a trusted friend or family member with you to the appointment so you both can listen and retain more. No doubt you may be scared, so it may help to use the "buddy system" here so you don't miss any important information, and so you can possibly be more at ease.
Here is a list of articles about the treatment of fibroids and one about calciferous breast tissue:
Fibroid treatment articles, and Breast Calcifications information
When we hear back from one of our medical professionals, we'll let you know what they say.
Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.
