My father has been suffering from acute kidney disease for a few years now. Unfortunately, he has not consistently listened to me or his doctors to take care of it. Now he is in chronic kidney failure and is finally paying attention. We are going to do the best we can to keep him off of dialysis and I will let you know how that goes. But the reason I am writing this is because just two months ago I managed to get my father quite well through herbs. I study herbal medicine and prescribed my father Cleavers tea and Queen Anne's Lace tincture for his kidneys and a chronic urinary tract infection. And the results were remarkable, I literally didn't recognize him. He lost so much weight that was just pure water. He was walking straighter and had a much brighter look in his eyes. He said he felt great and actually managed to walk seven miles to town when his car broke down. And he's sixty five! Once again, unfortunately he stopped taking the medicine and relapsed and that's how we find ourselves where we are now. From everything I understand dogs and humans have the same blood type and they can take the same herbs for the same problems just in smaller dosages according to weight. Maybe make a cup of the cleavers tea and soak their food in it and you wouldn't need much of the tincture maybe ten to fifteen drops in their water. I've done herbal remedies on my dogs with great results based on human recommendations. But I didn't mix prescription medicine with them so you should talk to your vet. But if they're recommending putting your dog to sleep. You might be better of just trying the herbs and dropping the prescriptions. Because evidently they don't really expect their medicine to work. Really hope this helps. I never post anything on forums but I know what it's like to lose a dog and I would like to do what I can to help.
