CastleInTheSky - Thanks for writing and seeking information to help your daughter. Her difficulties with sweating are related to her medical condition. Hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia results in the abnormal development of structures including the skin, hair, nails, teeth and sweat glands. Most people with this condition have a reduced ability to sweat (hypohidrosis) because they have fewer sweat glands than normal or their sweat glands do not function properly.

It's going to be important that you monitor your daughter while she is young and she learn to monitor herself as she grows up. Sweating, of course, is a key way for the body to regulare temperature as when sweat evaporates it helps to cool the skin. People who can't sweat can get dangerously high body temperatures in hot weather and it has the potential to become life-threatening.
