That feeling could mean other nerves are affected. Did you feel that way before the first rash? Some people can tell when they are about to have an outbreak. Shingles usually erupts along one nerve, but it can erupt in multiple places at once. Hopefully your anti-viral meds will tamp down other outbreaks.
As far as the discomfort, ask your doctor for something topical to put on the very irritated spots. You may also need medication for the nerve pain. Your doc can prescribe that as well.
Shingles is a miserable thing to have. I hope you get better soon.
