I am sorry to hear you had a personal crisis. I too have experienced the OCD moving out of the driver's seat when I have a crisis, and conversely, also had OCD take over when I have a crisis. Sometimes it's a relief to deal with something that seems "real"--my actual life, not the drama OCD is creating, even if it is something painful. But if my anxiety level high, the OCD can step in as a distraction, and get even more entrenched.
