I'm a 20 years old had surgery for a pilonidal abscess about 4-5 months ago, open wound left with packing gauze 2 times a week or so, the surgeon told me the chances of getting it again are likely due to how deep it was (yay) now skip to today and I am lying on my belly typing this in a fair bit of pain, there is no visible lump and I can't really feel a lump although the area is red and tender to touch. Deciding on weather to go straight to the hospital or going to the gp but I have a feeling the go will just put me on antibiotics that won't do anything to help. Ahh the joys of a pilonidal abscess. :(
