Hi,
Could you explain what type of problems you have always had with your cycle? Are these problems related to your cycle being irregular?

I am assuming you've had unprotected sex since your last menstrual cycle, and are wondering if the pregnancy test you took is correct? I assume you are not on any type of birth control?

You can not rely only on the calendar date to know when your period is about to start, as you say it usually starts on the 27th or 29th day. Your cycle can be irregular in length, but it is more accurate to count the number of days in your cycle (with Day 1 counting as the first day of your period), with the average range being 21-35 days. As you can calculate, your period will begin to fall on different calendar days eventually.

Since today is May 30th, you can choose to take another pregnancy test, since it has been 38 days since your last period. This pregnancy test would be very reliable, assuming your period usually begins prior to 38 days.

Let us know what the test says, as there are many reasons for a late period that are not pregnancy-related, having to do with recent illness, medication, stress or underlying medical conditions.

Does this information help answer your question?
