These are not anti-vaccine comments - they are the sad stories of mothers whose daughters have been adversely affected by Gardasil.
First of all there is a difference between vaccine distribution and administration. So out of the 28 million doses - how many are just sitting somewhere or being shipped to socially disadvantaged countries like Bhutan who received 9,600 free doses (before they closed down their campaign due to safety reasons. Other third world countries are receiving vaccines as well.
Please keep in mind that this vaccine has ingredients in it that other vaccines do not. L-Histidine, VLP's, Polysorbate 80 for example.
As a nurse you should also be aware that this is the first time that girls in this age group are being mass inoculated with this three shot series in addition to other vaccinations. Most are approaching or are in menarche. This is the most fragile time of a woman's life. Many adolescent girls are hormonally imbalanced because of genetics, diet, environmental toxins as they are entering this phase. Adding this vaccine with its challenge and rechallenge on the immune and endocrine system is too much to handle for some of them.
I would agree with and could somewhat accept isolated incidents based on herd immunity. However the there is a lot of common ground between the sub sets of girls affected. Again as a medical professional, one should be raising their eyebrows.
I understand that the medical industry is based on facts and figures and percentages and that is your OS - However there are other professions where demographics, and trends are examined and questioned.
As of February 2010 just under 18,000 events were reported and 67 deaths. According to the NVIC only 1 to 10% of the population is reporting.
BTW - to counter your facts....in the September 2008 FDA Closing Documents on Gardasil, it stated that approx. 73% of all girls receiving the vaccine would develop new medical conditions. According to a CDC newsletter issued in the last quarter of last year, approximately 71% of girls did not finish the series.
Again as a nurse you should be questioning this. Especially with the low reporting numbers to VAERS. It is possible and probable that many girls are sick with "mystery illnesses" because their doctors have not related it back to the vaccine.
