Hi Diane... Yes, we can get rid of visceral fat through exercise. The interesting thing is that just not any normal exercise will get rid of visceral fat. We have to do specific exercises that target the deep lower abdominal muscles. The Mayo Clinic listed some specific exercises that target the visceral fat. I had the same question as you about the pericardial fat. One of the things that concerned me is that we develop a certain amount of pericardial fat naturally as we age so it's important not to add more. I'm looking now for the answer to whether or not simply diet alone will reduce the pericardial fat or if there are other actions we need to take. I'll let you know what I find out.
