I had the cryo ablation done on April 5, 2012. The procedure was tolerable but I had severe cramping immediately after and was given ibuprofen and after 20 minutes the pain was gone. I had water discharge mixed with blood immediately after the procedure, then 2 days after it was just blood like a period. The bleeding got heavier and heavier each day then it was like I turn a tap on. I kept going back to my OBGYN and he did a thorough exam and said I was healing nicely but I have more dead tissue which needed to come out and that's the reason I was bleeding so heavy. The bleeding continued for almost 2 months - going thru a pad every 5 minutes. My OBGYN eventually did a D&C and clean out all the dead tissue and about 3 days later the bleeding completely stopped. I had my period the next month which was very heavy but lasted for 5 days and each month after I noticed my period getting lighter and lighter. 5 months after the procedure my period is very light and comes for 3 days. I am hoping my period will stop completely but I am happy that I have very light period now for only 3 days. Before the procedure, I was having my period every 2 weeks for 6 days. Now, its extremely light and last only 3 days and I am optimistic that it will eventually stop completely.
