If you typically pass out while giving blood, I've found that lying down, looking away and waiting at least 30 seconds before you get up after the blood is drawn is helpful. Also, I've been told to avoid caffeine and to drink plenty of water the day before and of to make sure your veins are plump. Having stringy, small veins can make for an unnecessary and uncomfortable experience. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
