Hi Mare! I'm coming up on a year post-op, and I still have swelling when I'm up and walking around. I haven't been back to work b/c I lost my job after my surgery (they were fed up with dealing with my medical issues...well.. so was I...), b/c I haven't been able to find one where I'm not on my feet all day. It is hard for me to stand for more than ten or fifteen minutes and I am always swollen at the end of the day.
Maybe there is a different person you could go to - an orthopoedic surgeon at another hospital perhaps? If your doctor recommends the CT scan, I would do it. My doctor just keeps telling me I need to lose weight & that I will always have pain, it's just a matter of trying to control it.
