I have heard a lot of good things about Metformin for women with PCOS (I am currently on it and noticed my cycles are coming back again after missing for some time). It helps with insulin resistance, etc that most women with PCOS suffer from. There are hundddreeds of websites on the internet about PCOS, some great ones are http://thyroid.about.com/ Mary Shomon is an amazing advocate for those with PCOS, might want to check out her book. Also PCOS Diva is another good website, forgot their URL though. Look up your provider online, usually there is a list you can choose from for doctors, and you can also look up ratings by searching for that doctors name. Im in PA currently and going to an Endocrinologist in Middletown and I thank god I found her. It does take a bit of research, maybe look for an Endocrinologist instead of a GYNO, helped me. I also have hypothyroidism though, didn't know I had both until recently...might be worth looking into. I'm not currently trying to have children but I very badly want them in the future, you have to take care of your own health first, take it slow and hopefully you find a great doctor soon!
