Hi Mia19 -
First, you seem to be a very self aware young woman who is recognizing areas of concern and trying to find ways to resolve them. Good for you for writing in and for your interest in your own good health.

I'm not clear from what you've said whether you have access to any kind of health coverage on your own or through your parents. if you don't have any formal kind of health coverage, then there may be resources available to you in your community on a low cost or free basis. Have you asked your counselor for assistance in finding healthcare resources? Counselors often have this information, or know where to go to find it.

You are correct in being concerned about your teeth, as dental and oral health can affect your overall health in multiple ways. Does your community have a school of dentistry or a school for dental hygenists? These schools often offer free check-ups and cleanings, and can be a great resource if money is an issue.

Do these suggestions help you? If you would like help in locating resources specific to your community please let me know. You can either write to me here, or you can send me a direct message if you want to keep the name of your community private. You're not alone, and we will work with you to help you find the resources you need for your health. Hang in there! Pat
