I'm finally getting over my primary outbreak from Type 1 Herpes and am hoping to get on some kind of medication in order to assist with reducing both future outbreaks and rates of transmission. Even though my partner is the one who gave me herpes, I don't want to gamble on infecting other parts of both his and my body.
I'm a bit confused about medication and preventing transmission. Of course, I know that the medication does not reduce transmission completely, but I read that it can help, coupled with other safe sex practices. However, I've also seen recent studies that say that medications in fact don't do anything to help reduce transmission. What do you think?
