I worked as caregiver for an older woman with MS and this was her main fear, accepting the scooter as a gift to make her life easier and to allow her her independance. But, when she finally accepted this gift (and Medicare covered the entire cost!) she was so glad of it. I think the real benefit to her was acceptance of the things she could not change and the courage to live a wonderful life in spite of that.
