I think you have come upon a clever way to help with your problem. I just wanted to interject that urine can't really get to the tampon unless it wicks up the string. The tampon is in the vaginal canal putting counter pressure against the bulge of the bladder pushing the weakened vaginal wall. Urine comes out through the urethra. But changing it a couple times a day seems like a good idea just to keep bacteria from causing an infection.

I wonder if Pelvic Floor Therapy with a P.T. might help. Kegals would strengthen the muscles. Did your urogynecologist suggest trying P.T?
