I'm almost 49, my periods are still regular. I've been using bio-identical progestron-estrogen as a cream for couple years. Really low dose of estrogen and relatively high on progesterone, the amount figured out by trial and error, so I belive I'm (relatively)estrogen-dominant.
Here is my experience with Amberen so far - after 1 week of use. Right at the start there was some symptoms of high estrogen (I knew the symptoms from fine-tuning the estrogen cream), I sleep better and have more energy, but then my moods started to go wild. I will add progesterone cream next, and then see what happens.
I do have a concern with extra estrogen production, on a long-term basis. Even the woman's own estrogen can provoke breast cancer - it all depends how she metabolises hormones in her liver (which is very individual).
I think I will stop at 30-days with Amberen. I was hoping for more energy from Amberen, otherwise it is not such a good trade-off given estrogen-related complications.

Hope my post will help women to make more informed decisions.
