Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. The sexual activity you guys did does put her at some risk for becoming pregnant. Did you not use any birth control? If she misses her next period, she can take a pregnancy test (some say to wait a week after a missed period, then the results will be more accurate). If she hasn't yet, it may not be a bad idea for her to get in touch with a doctor to get checked out and get on birth control or learn more about it if you guys are planning on continuing to be sexually active. You could even pick up some condoms for that next sexual encounter. It's a very exciting time for you guys--you can keep it fun and exciting by taking a few steps to make it safe for both of you.
