This is a simple, yet brilliant suggestion. (The best kind!)
There's something about the pace of eating that changes on a large plate, I think. In addition to taking larger portions, I think we eat faster and somehow enjoy less. The "salad" plates that came with a recent set of dishes I received as a present for Christmas are nearly 9" across (8 3/4"). The dinner plates are the regular size of 11". I believe I'll start thinking of that extra 2" as an extra 2" around my waist!!!
