I had surgery in 2008 for bladder/bowel prolapse and vaginal repair done with a mesh sling and mesh to strengthen my anterior wall. I now have vaginal mesh erosion and foul smelling brown/black discharge. my vagina wall bleeds when I press on it. I will be seeing a consultant soon to discuss how they will remove the eroded mesh and will it be successful! There are many women who have recurrent erosions and endure multiple surgeries. Once the mesh is in your body it adheres to your tissues and is very difficult to take out....It's terrifying!!
