It sounds like you did not actually miss a pill, but you took a pill as soon as you remembered? If so, this would not likely count as a "missed pill". For pills to be 99% effective, they must be used consistently and correctly every time; if a pill is missed or delayed, it can decrease this effectiveness rate (unfortunately, there is no "assurance" that you will not be pregnant, even on the pill, as it is not 100%).
