Hello...I just found out about two weeks ago I have HVP and I am 52 so I beyond devasted myself. My doctor told me that the only HVP they can check for in a Pap Smear is the High Risk HVP, so I assume that is the same for all the tests. Especially since they can not detect HVP in men or any other way of checking HVP in women either. I was told it could be dormant for years...so since I have been married twice and have had other relationships I don't know who I got it from. My doctor said that it could go away on its own in a year or so. Meanwhile I am still freakng out. I have OCD..and I am a hypochondriac so it is making my life a living hell!!! My conern is how long has it been dormant???
