Hi, I'm a twenty year old woman and around a year ago I was diagnosed with a high risk strand of HPV. It was probably one of the most terrifying moments in my life. I have by no means slept around or had numerous sexual partners, but neither have I been completely monogomous with just one man. When I was a senior I had a "relationship" with a slightly older man who I recently learned has had many sexual encounters. The only other man I ever had sex with in highschool also seemed to have been around the block a few times; and now since learning that HPV is normally dormant for 12-18 months before it shows up in a PAP, I'm fairly certain one of the two must have been the culprit. Anywho....I've gone throuh the colposcopy; The biopsy was very painful for me, but I had many cancerous cells and the doc had to do three or four bipsies to get all that she wanted. (Had my mom and my best friend inthe room while she did it, kind of uncomfortable). Long story short....after the procedure I was advised to restrain from sex for two weeks or until I no longer felt discomfort. I waited a month and a half and then (and up until very recently) I would have a substantial amount of blood after intercourse. My biopsies came back alright, still cancerous but not in a more advanced stage....My question is; has anyone else experienced the bleeding? It never hurt during sex, at all. Infact the first time it happened me and my partner did not realize it until the next day after we had woken up. I've gone through quite a bit since then; miscarriage(while on the pill), spending three months off birth control and then being put on the shot for two sessions, after my first session my period stopped and did not start back until eight months later, after I was put on four rounds of provera(a hormone pre-menopausal women take to keep their periods), now I have been on my period for almost four months now. I will stop for three days(sometimes) and then it's right back to bleeding. My period has just now turned back to the normal red color it should be, but a lot of the time it's still the murky brown of old blood. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should be doing? The doctor's all seem to think I'm fine, but this does worry me. I'm twenty but one day I want to be married with little babies running around making my life a mess. I'm scared to death that this will inhibit my ability to have children.
