I'm really confused and hoping someone can shed some light on my situation. I became pregnant with my daughter July 2009. During the pregnancy I developed bumps around my anus. During my pregnancy check up I mentioned them to my doctor. She looked at them and told me I have HPV. I had a pap right when we found out I was pregnant, a year after my daughter was born in 2011 and I just had another pap today. I don't know my results from today, but I have never had an abnormal pap smear and no test has ever said anything is wrong. I was told the strain that causes warts is not the strain that causes cancer, so I went ahead and got the HPV shots.

Could she be wrong and I really don't have HPV? Could something else cause warts during pregnancy?

I try to ask my obgyn questions and I feel like she blows me off. I asked her if there is an HPV test, she told me no. She basically tells me it's nothing to worry about and lots of people have HPV. I can't help but feel gross.
