You definitely are on to something thinking it is about immunity and bacterial (organism) balance. Probiotics either ingested by mouth in pill form or via yogurt, etc. or taken in suppository form (used vaginally), have been said to help fight frequent infection, because they help promote good bacteria growth "down there". It's important to have balance of those organisms, and not just in your gut.
