Hi, I am 40 yrs old and will be turning 41 in couple of months. TTC first child, taking clomid 50mg and on 3rd cycle now. Feb.10 was first day of my last period, it lasted for 5 days. Usually I'm on 35 day cycle, but last period it came a day early.
Had sex on Feb 23 and Feb 28. Those 2dates my cm were particularly like egg white- stretchy, but some other days in between those seems to be less or not even stretchy. Had increasing cm since last week though. I started to feel on and off mild cramping that started Feb 27 but not really that bothersome, just feeling a bit of pressure, twinges and feels like something is going on inside.
Hubby wants a girl hence sex on first fertile day (Feb 23) we've read that girl sperm are slow swimmer but live longer inside. But more than anything else, we really want to get pregnant NOW, a boy would be great as well. Hoping for a twins (boy and girl) while on clomid since I'm already past 40 and another pregnancy later might not be safe for me and the baby.
I took opk test before sex yesterday and it had a faint line which means its negative. But yesterday (Feb 28) was my maximum fertile day according to the ov calendar calculator and also shows today (Feb 29) I will ovulate. We will have sex today and tomorrow as well just in case ov is late. My last 2 cycles i had positive ovulation tests but negative pregnancy :( The day I ovulated, i felt bloated and had strong side pain like its full of gas. Really uncomfortable. Is this normal? I should get my period 2 weeks from now. I hope it won't come.
My question, could I get pregnant during the sex we had last Feb 23? Just want to know if we didn't miss out on the days in between Feb 23 and Feb 28 that we didn't have sex. Our doctor told us to hold off till ovulation is really near so to have good amount of sperm from hubby. I hope our doc's advice is right. Hope to hear back from you. Thanks!
