I was prescribed too by a nurse practitioner in early January and I used it for a while then stop. I was also sick at that time taking antibiotics for an ear infection and I've never felt so miserable in my entire life. I found out that the antibiotic counteract with the yeast infection and i was itching like hell! So I used this with monistat but the itch and discomfort didn't help. I'm premenopausal 41 years old and had a hysterectomy in 2008, my ovaries remained. Based on my research, I might be suffering vaginal dryness due to my premenopausal. I'm not sure how everyone else feels but somehow my body goes thru this everymonth coinciding with my "regular" period supposedly and there's nothing I can do because it's hormonal. So that means I have to suffer one week a month with vaginal itch so bad that I can't go to sleep ( I have to take sleeping pills just so my body can rest) and go to work. I feel like I'm a prisoner of my vagina! Am i making sense to anyone or is it just me. I finally went to a female ob-gyn on February, she took some culture test, and at that time is my "monthly" itch and she said its hormonal and unfortunately we can't do anything about. I might have given her the dagger look and so she scheduled me for March. I'm going Monday and I'm going to tell her that I'm on my "monthly" itch again and lost work for three days and haven't slept for two. HELP!
