I had posted before regarding the flu shot I received 10-21-2014. I too felt the vaccine enter my arm and experienced soreness that escalated over a week's time until I could not move my left arm without pain which was jarring at times and brought me almost to tears. I could not lift my arm to style my hair, apply mascara, take off my coat, etc. I saw my doctor 13 days later. There was no swelling, bruising, or redness at the site of the injection and there never had been. The pain is in my upper arm. not my shoulder. However, on occasion, I do feel some shoulder/neck weariness due to the way I restrict my arm movements. He said I had a deltoid injury (would not conclude the shot had caused it but said since this problem occurred after the shot it could be related) and prescribed prednisone. He said it could be 6 months. That brought almost immediate relief but the pain and limited movement returned when the Rx ran out. He again prescribed another round of prednisone 6 weeks after the flu shot. Again relief for the time on the Rx but pain returning now. Movement in my arm is better than it was when I initially saw him. I try to limit my movement in that arm as much as possible. It feels best when I am taking a hot shower. I call my first visit ground zero for pain and movement. I now feel I am at 20%. I can style hair, take off coat, etc. with pain but not the bring me to my knees pain. I am calling next week to see him again. I have reviewed what others have said their doctor has done so I can take that information with me. Any advice or updates?
